How do I start or stop utility service?

Visit Village Hall or call 847-428-2861 at least one business day before you need service to begin or end. There is no fee to start residential service.

How do I pay my utility bill?

Pay online at the BSA payment portal, by mail to Village Hall, in the drop box at Village Hall, or by enrolling in auto-pay using the Auto-Pay Enrollment Form.

When is my garbage day?

Garbage and recycling are collected weekly on a day determined by your address. Holidays may delay pickup by one day. See the 2026 Garbage & Recycling Calendar for your schedule.

Do I need a permit?

Most exterior improvements — fences, decks, sheds, pools, driveway work — require a permit. Interior work involving electrical, plumbing, or structural changes also requires a permit. Contact Community Development if you are not sure.

How do I report tall grass or property maintenance issues?

Submit a Report a Concern through the Contact page or call Village Hall. Code Enforcement will inspect and follow up with the property owner.

How do I request public records?

Submit a FOIA request to the Village Clerk by email, mail, fax, or in person. The Village will respond within five business days.

How do I rent a park shelter?

Complete a Park Rental Application and submit it with the rental fee at least two weeks before your event.

How do I pay a Village ordinance citation?

Citations may be paid in person at Village Hall or by mail. Court information is included on the citation.
