Boards & Commissions

Volunteer boards and advisory commissions that support the Village Board.

Boards and commissions are made up of Gilberts residents appointed by the Village President with Board consent. They advise the Village Board on planning, parks, and other issues and meet regularly throughout the year.

Plan Commission / Zoning Board of Appeals

Reviews subdivisions, rezonings, special use permits, and variances. The Plan Commission also reviews and recommends updates to the Comprehensive Plan and the Unified Development Ordinance.

Parks Commission

Advises the Village Board on park planning, programming, facility improvements, and the parks capital budget.

Economic Development Commission

Promotes the Village to businesses, supports existing businesses, and advises on incentive programs such as the Facade Improvement Program.
