Facade Improvement Program
Matching grants to help Gilberts businesses improve their storefronts.
The Facade Improvement Program offers matching grants to commercial property owners and tenants for exterior building improvements that enhance the appearance of the Village's commercial corridors.
Eligible improvements
- Storefront windows, doors, and entry features
- Exterior painting, masonry repair, and tuckpointing
- Awnings, canopies, and exterior lighting
- Building-mounted signage consistent with Village standards
- ADA accessibility improvements at building entries
Grant match
The Village will match eligible costs 50/50 up to a maximum of $10,000 per property. Applicants must obtain all required permits and complete the project within twelve months of grant approval.
How to apply
Submit a completed application along with photos of existing conditions, a project description, and at least two contractor estimates to Community Development. Applications are reviewed by the Economic Development Commission and approved by the Village Board.
